Kind, Good, and Faithful

Introduction: Christian life is a life of change. God is transforming us into the image of Christ. He works on us from the inside out. He provides power so we can obey His commands. Today we look at God's love towards us and how we are to show to show that love to others.

Kindness Gal. 5:22-23 tells us kindness is a fruit of the Spirit.

1. There is no law against it!

2. It’s a sweetness of temper that allows you to approach and be approached

3. Kindness is the result of good thoughts

4. We are expected to show it to others

Goodness

2. Romans 3:12 tells us that goodness is not natural for people. We have it not, no not one of us--animals can be kind to their young, but goodness is not a natural part of nature

3. Goodness comes from an in filling of the Holy Spirit. Polite and courteous does not constitute goodness

4. Goodness has been called 'love in action'. It translates love to that which can be seen.

Faithfulness

3. We are called to be faithful to God as Christians

4. God's consistency and reliability sets the stage for us to follow in His footsteps.

5. When you are faithful you can be counted on to do what is needed or promised.

Conclusion: We all wish God would accelerate the pace at which he is changing us. We know we need to change but it is hard. God builds us like strong trees, one piece at the time.
