Forgiveness
As adults we have had plenty of time to accumulate disappointments and resentments. Grudges form and hard through time. We all have, and have been, mistreated---an unfair coach, a cruel teacher, the church itself has all been part of and received mistreatment. Families and churches and nations get damaged. In short, we all have battle scars.

First Love
This was a strange thing to tell a church. It was growing and doing the Lords’ work. Your love for God is much more important than you think. Psalm 18:1 “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.”
He asked Peter in John 21:15 “Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these?...” Now we find the Lord telling the church in Ephesus “You have left your love for me.”

Expressing Gratitude
Expressing gratitude is something that should come naturally to us. However, it is vanishing in this culture of ours. We believe we are owed something. We are never wrong, really. Gratitude is becoming out of style, a sign of weakness. Christians should be eager to show gratitude, especially about their sins. Have you ever wanted to quit? Just stop it all right now because it seems it's’ no use going on the way you are now. Many times, you have good reasons to do this. The world situation is very discouraging. Attempts at peace in the world, where you work, even in church are scuttled due to peoples own selfish agendas. People will lie, steal and cheat if it is to their own advantage. There is hope however!!

Do it God’s Way Or When We find Grace in the Eyes of the Lord
When we obey God we find grace in His eyes. Noah found grace through obedience. Noah’s name is mentioned 5 times in v. 8-10. Once would have been enough, but no, God calls him by name 5 times! Noah was an individual who obeyed God and as a result, he found grace and a wonderful thing happened to him.

Being Pure
We are called on to be pure as Christians, to imitate the purity in our heavenly father. Just as the moon shines by reflected light from the sun, the sole source of our light, Christians are to reflect the light from Christ, our sole source of light and spiritual enlightenment.

The Bible teaches that marriage is a gift from God. Not every Christian will get married but married or single all are expected to practice the ideals of marriage. Being in Step
Being in step is another way to address something we use to call “Backsliding”. The lesson today addresses discord among members and the need we have to evaluate ourselves to make sure we are in step with or behavior and responsibilities in a manner that is pleasing to Christ. Be sober and vigilant
The chapter is divided into three main sections. He exhorts. What is exhortation? An encouragement of something specific.
The first is an exhortation. to the elders of the churches to be faithful to the flocks committed to their charge, 1 Peter 5:1-4. These are people that minister and there are many who here do that, are associated with that or are married to someone who is involved in that. It’s talking to YOU!
